Guest97357: is this good card to get? Sapphire ATI Radeon 3450 512MB PCI-E Video Card DualDVI
soreau: Depends on the definition of 'good' and what the intended usage is
kasukka: hi-ho. i've got R300 and c++ call to glGenFramebuffersEXT() keeps segfaulting. i used to run something that required this stuff but it might have been with the fglrx driver. should it (GL_EXT_framebuffer_object?) work with xf86-ati driver?
HorneD: Any driver devs about?
HorneD: Was wondering if maybe I could be of use regarding this issue: http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14424
ssieb: HorneD: you have the problem where X hangs, but the mouse still moves?
HorneD: And stutters about, yep
HorneD: I'm GDBing to a stuck X server at the moment..
HorneD: Not too familiar with the X codebase, though.
ssieb: I don't think you'll get anything, generally gdb can't actually attach for me
ssieb: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472634
HorneD: Well, it's attached. Although I can't swear by the manliness of this data..
ssieb: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472304
HorneD: Cheers, I'll read through those.
ssieb: there's no solution yet
ssieb: although maybe it will help if you can get a proper backtrace of X
ssieb: you have debuginfo?
HorneD: Yeah, seems to indicate the problem being the RADEONPrepareSolidCP function being the issue.
ssieb: can you paste the backtrace into whichever of those bugs looks more appropriate to your situation?
ssieb: is away for a bit
Guest97357: what is better board ASRock ALiveNF6G-VSTA or ASUS M2A-VM
chithead: Guest97357: maybe ask in ##hardware
bigon: ssieb: the bug you've posted earlier looks a lot like https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/301937
ssieb: bigon: I expect there's one for every distro :-)
bigon: ssieb: and here it's only happens when I remove all usb devices :/
ssieb: really?? odd
UnNamed: MostAwesomeDude: hey, you were right, thanks, 7.2 fixed or implements anisotropico properly, 7.0.3 gave fuzzy road lines, 7.2 gives nice ones when far away
m03sizlak: in windows powerplay w/ fireGL, why cant i set the GPU clock to dynamically scale when im on ac power?
