MostAwesomeDude: No problem.
AusMounty: catch you later
LPedro: any help on compiz&overlay flickering?
LPedro: known problem on ubuntu
LPedro: (dunno others)
udovdh: LPedro, wait for a developer
udovdh: what card? waht driver version?
udovdh: what config?
udovdh: why compiz?
LPedro: hd4850, i tried both ubuntu shipped driver, and the latestfrom ati site
LPedro: without compiz overlay works fine
LPedro: the xorg.conf file seems very skinny on ubuntu, dunno if optioms are enabled or disabled by default on X server
LPedro: xorg.conf just has the fglrx driver and load glx that is relevant

udovdh: I read something about taht yes
udovdh: interesting for the devs, just wait until they wake up

sickdrummer420: hey everyone
sickdrummer420: im searching for a certain bios for my radeon that was lost
sickdrummer420: it has a bad flash and just want to restore it back to normal
hellsing: do you search on phoronix?
sickdrummer420: ive searched on techpowerups bios collection and mvktech plus all over the net but still nothing
sickdrummer420: where can i search on phoronix?
hellsing: what is your graphic card?
sickdrummer420: ATI Radeon 9800SE 256MB 128bit
sickdrummer420: AGP also
sickdrummer420: Elixir memory on it as well
hellsing: ah this good old 9800
sickdrummer420: yea im having a hell of a time trying to find the original bios, my idiot buddy tried to flash it to convert to mac but didnt keep the backup bios
sickdrummer420: so tried many other ones similar to the card but still a no go and cannot find the actual one i need
sickdrummer420: i was thinking that Ati had a ftp server to grab whatever bios i needed but i also cannot find that anywhere as well
hellsing: you didn't find it on techpower?
hellsing: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ just in case, but you already search...
sickdrummer420: nope its not on there as you think it would be
sickdrummer420: it has the 256bit one but not 128bit
hellsing: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?page=1&architecture=ATI&manufacturer=&model=9800+SE&interface=&memSize=0 -there is some 128 bit
sickdrummer420: i even tried emailing people selling it on ebay to try to get me the bios hahaha
sickdrummer420: ive tried a ton of them ones as well but i think i need the actual ATI one and not another vendor
hellsing: are you sure it works?
sickdrummer420: yea its brand new and was working correctly right before the flash. im able to flash it again with another card in the PCI slot. Many times I get checkerboard or scrambled graphics on all the flashes I tried.
sickdrummer420: it was bought brand new to be converted to mac
sickdrummer420: but thought it was the 9800 pro and not the 9800SE
sickdrummer420: so got kinda screwed on the whole thing
howari: radeonhd does not detect mode 1600x1200 from my secondary monitor any more
howari: correction, now it found it again, just after complaing :)
johannes_: hi, id like to use a 780g mainboard with rs780 and radeonhd driver for a mythtv htpc will the uvd be supported?
bridgman: johannes_; no UVD support at this time. Once we get 3D engine support released (which is the most important thing for an HTPC) we are going to investigate whether we can open up any of the UVD info. I expect the fglrx driver will be the first to get UVD support
johannes_: bridgman thanks for the info
tyebud: Hey everyone
tyebud: I'm having issues updating my xorg.conf via aticonfig.
